KARLEBYVÄGEN

A harmonious and bright kitchen with plenty of work space. The house is located on Karlebyvägen in Bromma, Stockholm. The area is called Norra Ängby and consists of owner-occupied villas that were built in the 1930-40s and was, after Enskede, the first area with owner-occupied villas to be built. During the period, 1,319 houses were built in Norra Ängby, which was then Sweden’s largest small cottage area. This house was built in 1938. The area is classified as a national heritage site and most of the houses are K-marked. The houses are divided into nine different house types that are grouped in blocks or rows to get as uniform an appearance as possible. The architect’s name was Edvin Engströn and he is primarily known for many of his suburban environments where he designed single-family houses, villas and a variety of self-built houses.
