HINGES

With a partial overlay door, we always mount with a classic overlay hinge. In our Original and Modern kitchen series we have chosen a nickel plated variation in classic proportions.

MODUL HINGES

Our Modul range is a flat panel design where Blum's soft hinges are concealed on the back of the doors. This makes the choice of knobs even more important, as the knobs are the only protruding detail on these cabinets. Keep in mind that these hinges add about 40 mm to the inside of the doors. This means that, for example, internal sliding drawers will be a little less wide than in our other ranges and that the cabinet for built-in fridge and freezer will be a narrower 640 mm wide. A soft-close hinge causes the doors to close soft and slowly.

In the past, it was common to mount overlay hinges to the door itself, not the frame. This is how we have chosen to mount our hinges.

HINGE MOUNTING PART 2

This creates a gap of about 2 mm between the door and frame. This is the method we have chosen for our Original and Modern ranges. The advantage of this is that the kitchen can handle many layers of paint without cabinet doors beginning to stick shut.

ORIGINAL KNOBS & PULLS

In our Original range, many people choose the classic approach with cabinet handle 5181 (Ticka) in stainless steel. In our world, the handle grip and the inner strike plate remain, and the function of the handle is the same as it has always been. For the drawers, handle 5182 is a nice complement. Cabinet handle 5181 with strike plate must be included in the order from the beginning. This is because the doors need to be pre-drilled with a 20 mm hole.

DRAWER SLIDES

Technology sometimes advances for the better. Blum's Movento full extension, soft close rails are clear proof of this. The classic solid pine wood drawer rests on high quality slides, assuring it glides easily for many years to come.

DRAWERS

A classic drawer front with a small routed handle in the middle. All inner wood is oiled with paraffin oil to get a wipeable surface. Our inner drawers also pull out on Blum's Movento slides.

Catches

In our Modern kitchen series, the doors are always closed with a snap catch. If you choosing a handle other than Ticka in the series Original will also be these hatches closed with a snap catch.
